Thomas and the BBQ Pit Boys
We received this email from Thomas's mom that we'd like to share
with you. It's friends like Thomas that make us pause a moment and help us prioritize the really
important things in life! Slow down, get that grill or smoker of yours going, crank up the music,
and invite some family and friends over for some "low and slow". Good Livin' don't get any better
than that....!
And welcome, Thomas, to our Pit...! -BBQ Pit Boys

Gentlemen:
I want to say a BIG THANK YOU!
My oldest son, Thomas, is 15 years old. Thomas is Autistic and cannot put his thoughts into
verbal sentences. Thomas has found your videos on YouTube. I believe he has every one of them
memorized. He watches them over and over and is enthralled with each of them!
Recently, I heard him in the kitchen. I walked through there and found a bowl of spices mixed
on the cabinet. I asked him what this was and he told me "Brisket Rub". This is the BEST rub I
have ever had! I bagged it up ('cause there was quite a bit of it!) and have used it on several
occasions. At Christmas, I made a pork loin to take to my parent's house from our family
Supper. I simply rubbed the loin in this baked it. Mama had cooked the rest of the supper. She
made chicken wings, etc. I told my family that the loin was made with Thomas' rub. Well,
needless to say, there wasn't a bite of a very large pork loin left! Everyone raved about
Thomas' cooking! :)
Thomas has made BBQ sauce. He has helped cook steaks. We are all amazed at his interest in your
videos. As he is actually participating with us in the kitchen. The only problem I am having is
finding MY spices. He has taken over my spice cabinet. Seems to be his domain now!
So, thank you to all of ya'll! Words alone cannot express how much ya'll mean to Thomas or to
our family!
Sincerely,
Dianne Franklin
